After a 15 day visit to Costa Rica last November with 4 good friends, we all voted that Carate and the Lookout-Inn was our favorite spot. Since I run a seasonal business here in Colorado, I sent a Christmas e-mail card to Terry & Katya, telling them the fact that “I don’t do much in Evergreen during the winter, and that if he needed any help at the Lookout, I’d sure love to spend some time there again“. So Terry wrote back saying: “I need a volunteer, bar tender, manager, and just a friendly person to greet and mingle with the guests - you qualify!!!“
As you know - the motto at the Lookout is: “Come as a guest - leave as a family/friend“. I wrote back telling them that I’d get down there a.s.a.p. I went on to say: “I came as a guest, I left as a friend, and I’ll return as a slave“. tee hee.

Hi Terry and Staff!
Just thought I’d try to get this to you all while you still remember me. This is old “Ice-man, Dad“.
Jon and I had a very good and comfortable time there at the inn. There is no doubt you and your people went out of your way, above and beyond your normal duties to make sure my son and I had a good time. Many thanks! Both of us share many good memories from there.
I have told my wife about your place, (and by the way thanks for letting me use your radio phone to call her). The most wonderful thing for me Jon and me was that we had a great opportunity to renew our relationship with each other. It is great now and will stay that way.
Below is our address and phone,so if you ever get up this way be sure and contact us, you will always be welcome here.
Please stay in touch! We will be headed that way again sometime soon, when the trail is clear. (P.S. I looked into shipping about a dozen blocks of ice from the states, but it is cost prohibitive! So we probably won’t do that! HA!)

I am the webmaster for Lookout Inn, and living in Canada, love to get away for a winter break.
The Osa is just fabulous, and I highly recommend it for those NOT looking for a typical resort holiday, but are looking for outdoor adventure, beauty and the biological wonder that is the Osa.
I loved it so much that I decided to visit for the second winter in a row, and this time decided to share the experience by taking my 15 year old niece on the trip.
Terry and Katya (owner/managers) treated us royally, the food was scrumptious, and I certainly hope to make it three winters in a row.
Favorite Activity: Sitting on the deck looking down upon the trees to see the macaws and monkeys, and you can see and hear the ocean waves crash.
Best Wildlife Seen: Monkeys, macaws, coatis (raccoon family) - you can take your pick
