Every year the sea turtles return to the beaches of Carate to lay eggs. These huge reptiles come back to the beach where they hatched to lay eggs. The Lookout Inn is the perfect spot to stay if you want to watch these amazing creatures. Almost any night from June til November these animals are up on the beach laying eggs. If you are lucky and time it right you may even see babies hatching on the same night.
The Osa Penninsula is home to for of the seven species of sea turtles, the leatherback, olive ridley, green, and pacific black.
