It was indeed the Toucan. We had heard that a huge flock of them had passed by the Lookout Inn around 5:30 am and we were sad we had missed them. Luckily they were still hanging out when we went on our hike. They are amazing to watch. The way they look down and try to figure out who and what we are. They would her us talking and turn their head slightly to hear better. When we returned to the Lookout Inn we found that it was the Chestnut-mandibled Toucan.
It was such a great pleasure to see once in the jungle. Then in the morning, as I was preparing breakfast the Toucans came to say hello again! So neat to watch them fly and interact! I love this place!
