On Top of It All in a Costa Rica Lodge

This has been one incredible rainy season so far here at the Lookout Inn. Normally by this time of year everyone is hiding inside waiting for the rains to leave. This year has been very dry. Maybe it is coming for us later on, but in the meantime we wait and enjoy the sunshine. There are however still issues with the roads. Because of the moon cycle, the tides have been extremely high or extremely low. While being extremely high the waves crash over Carate beach and up over the tree line onto the road. This has been creating problems for vehicles because the salt water is horrible on the undercarriage of the trucks and cars. Once there is salt water underneath the vehicle, rust sets in quickly.



So there we were enjoying the sunshine one day and a neighbor came running up asking for help. It turned out that their truck even though it was equipped with four wheel drive, had gotten stuck in the nearby river. So Terry grabbed his tow ropes and helped them out of a muddy situation! A good day in paradise... again :-)
